Over the years, Jaipur has retained its old charm by maintaining the colorful bazaars and exotic monuments. Being the first planned city of India, the old Jaipur is enclosed in walls from all the sides. Located in Rajasthan, Jaipur endorses many tourist destinations that are worth exploring! Founded in AD 1727 by Sawai Jaisingh II, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and is popularly known as the Pink City with broad avenues and spacious gardens.
Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the 18th century. The city was carefully planned and built according to the ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. Apart from being a diplomatic warrior, Jai Singh had interests in astronomy. The amazing observatory, Jantar Mantar, was built by him.

Jaipur is enveloped by rugged hills and enclosed within a wall that has seven gates. Within these walls are some of the finest examples of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture.
