Trekking in Garhwal and Kumaon

Located on a beautiful peak in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, Kedarkantha summit is easily accessible all year round and is one of India’s most popular winter treks. The trek from Sankri to Kedarkantha is within Govind National Park, surrounded by a wide variety of flora and fauna. At an altitude of 3850m above sea level, reaching the summit offers beautiful 360-degree views of the sacred mountains of Uttarakhand including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak and Ranglana between the Yamunotri and Gangotri ranges. .
The best time (when it snows) for the Sankri-Kedarkantha trek is during winter. That is December to February. Kedarkanta Trek is one of the most popular winter treks in Uttarakhand. The hiking trails are lined with pine trees and, in winter, covered with sparkling snow and decorated with the spectacular beauty of falling snow. Dehradun - Sankri (193 kms / Duration: 9-10 hours)
Unlimited India welcomes you to beautiful journey which commence from Dehradun Airport. You will receive a warm welcome from our tour representative who will then accompany you in moving towards Sankri which is at the Elevation of 1950M. You will drive towards Sankri Village via Mussoorie, the queen of hills and there are many other tourist attractions falling en-route like Kempty fall, Mall Road etc. It takes a total of 9-10 hours driving distance as Sankri is located almost 193 km away from Dehradun.
The drive passes off by means of gorgeous pine forests and this makes your trekking experience worthy. On reaching Sankri, start exploring the scenic hamlet and then return to the stay for scrumptious dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Sankri is an ideal base camp established amidst the ridges because of the gorgeous sun setting behind the Himalayas and the magnificent Swargarohini Peak. Dinner and Overnight stay in Tents.
Sankri - Juda Ka Talab (Trek Distance: 4 kms / 4 - 5 hours)
Start your day with a hot and delectable breakfast before starting your hiking climb. This takes almost 4-5 hours to reach the final destination of the day by passing through the thick dense forests Kedarkantha. While ascending up, you are going to witness the awe-inspiring views of snow-covered mountain peaks. Juda Ka Talab, a frozen water stream nestled at the altitude of 2800 meters above sea level.
After covering an hour long walking distance you will reach the place where you will spending night, Upon reaching at the campsite relax and enjoy the beauty of the Kedarkantha Peak. Overnight stay in Camps.
Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base (Altitude : 9,100 ft to 10,500 ft.)
The day is going to be very hectic as the trekking route looks astonishing as you get to see the mesmerizing views of the lush green valleys and good sized snowfields bedecked with green patches. You will also pass through some meadows where you can spot Sheppard long huts. Just moments after starting today’s trek you will see and cross Juda Ka Talab. Upon reaching at the campsite relax and enjoy the beauty of the Kedarkantha Peak. Overnight stay in Camps.
Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha peak summit and then back to base
Today we will start early in the morning so that we can witness the surreal sunrise from the ridge/top. We are climbing on steep slopes of the mountain, after reaching the summit we will spend some quality time with the beautiful picturesque view from the top. The views around you will keep your adrenaline rush high just to know how the view from the top is. Then we return back to the base camp for lunch and from there we will descend for Hargaon. Overnight stay at Camp site.
Juda Ka Talab to Sankri and back to Dehradun (Altitude: 8,900 ft to 6,400 ft)
Today after morning breakfast we will be heading towards Sankri from where it all started. It will take approximately 3.5 hours for 4 Kms long trek downhill. After breakfast we will start our descend, by early afternoon we will reach Sankri. After spending some time in Sankri we will leave for Dehradun. Reach Dehradun in evening at the trip ends upon drop at Dehradun Airport or Hotel.
~ We need 8 pax minimum for running the batches.
~ Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
~ Water is very precious, so conservation is appreciated.
~ Do not encourage trekking during the night unless it is a part of the itinerary and a guide is with you; this might lead to unforeseen mishaps.
~ Avoid using earphones during the trek; this might hinder your audibility.
~ Avoid using plastic bags and maintain the ecological balance of the destinations.
~ In case, the trek needs to be canceled, the authorities should be informed beforehand.
~ Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask is recommended.
~ Please provide a valid ID at the time of check-in.

~ Professional guide(s) are available to ensure high safety and more information and personal attention which are necessary to appreciate a trek.
~ Neat and clean vehicle for the journey with experienced driver especially for hilly terrains available.

~ Camping is very basic in nature. One must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
~ Mobile & laptop charging points may/may not be available on campsites at a common point.
~ Carry dry snacks/food from home (you will save a lot of money). Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
~ Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
~ Ensure that you stay covered with thermals and enough jackets to withstand the temperature that is between 8°C to 15°C during the day and -5°C to 3°C at the night.
~ The management reserves all the right to modify the Kedarkantha trekking during any emergencies or natural calamities.
~ It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the Kedarkantha winter trek.
~ Children below the age of 7 years are not recommended for Kedarkantha trek.
~ Pay heed to the trek leaders and guides in order to enjoy a safe and sound trek.
~ The Kedarkantha winter trek takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travelers littering may be fined.
~ Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Kedarkantha trek package.
~ Avoid consumption of alcohol or any other intoxicants during the Kedarkantha Trekking.
